TEACH.SHARE.INSPIRE. Cosmetology & Barber Educator of the Year

 

The Texas Barber & Cosmetology Educators TEACH.SHARE.INSPIRE. The Cosmetology & Barber Educator of the Year Award recognizes an educator who exemplifies excellence in career and technical education by preparing future beauty and barbering professionals and elevating the profession through leadership, collaboration, and service. This prestigious honor celebrates individuals whose influence extends beyond the classroom and clinic floor to strengthen students, fellow educators, schools, and the cosmetology and barbering industries.

 

TEACH

An outstanding Cosmetology or Barber Educator:

  • Demonstrates exceptional knowledge of cosmetology, barbering, safety and sanitation, and state licensing requirements.

  • Creates engaging, hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for licensure, employment, and lifelong career success.

  • Maintains high expectations while supporting students with diverse learning styles and backgrounds.

  • Integrates technical skills with professionalism, communication, customer service, and business principles.

  • Uses data, assessment, and innovative instructional strategies to improve student achievement and licensure pass rates.

  • Models professionalism, ethical conduct, and a commitment to excellence in every aspect of instruction.

Nomination Form

Nominees must be actively teaching in 2026 at any Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation Cosmetology or Barber School.  Nominations are accepted through March 31, 2027. Awardee is announced each July at the Texas Barber & Cosmetology Educators Annual Summer Conference.
